About the role: Dollar Shave Club is looking for a Lead Software Engineer, Frontend.  This role is the next step on the Individual Contributor / Technical Career Path for Engineers after the Senior level. Besides regular individual contribution, this role's expectations are to be a deep technical expert in our Frontend tech stack and also have a breadth of knowledge & experience on Frontend technology trends in the industry. As an experienced technical guru, they are radiators of this technical knowledge - they mentor and guide Frontend engineers on software development best practices, architecture, design patterns, etc. Responsibilities: Individual Contribution: Regularly ship high quality code to customers, both internal and external. Regularly review code and architecture contributed by other engineers on the team. Own one mission critical domain or system & KPIs for them. Is available and ready to spelunk production issues. Project Delivery & Business Alignment: Partner with Backend, Infrastructure, Product, UX & Design teams to come up with creative technology solutions to business problems. Communicate technical topics effectively to engineers and business partners. Improve visibility into Frontend architecture for all stakeholders. Scope projects in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve business goals. Help engineers identify small shippable components. Drive the team towards better estimates & predictability. Team Building: Help attract highly-skilled engineers and interview them. Help onboard and mentor new engineers to our tech stack. Foster good working relationships in the team. Encourage and lead productive technical discussions. Mentor engineers in their domain and across teams. Radiate knowledge and raise the general skill level of the team. Evolving the Frontend Platform: Evaluate and stress test our FE tech stack and identify opportunities and risks. Keep up with the latest trends in FE technologies, especially as it relates to e-commerceexperience. Nurture the architecture of our frontend platforms as we regularly add features to it. Ensure that our production frontend applications and build pipelines are performant, reliable, responsive, maintainable and of high quality with minimal tech debt. What We're Looking For: BS in Computer Science or equivalent Minimum of 6 years of software development experience Current Frontend Web Development skills. Good experience with Single Page Apps and FE MVC frameworks. Solid Javascript development experience. Strong written and spoken communication skills. A passion for mentoring and building strong technical leaders.
