Java Engineer (13518)
Software Engineer C, Java
Our client is currently seeking motivated Software Engineer(s) with experience in C and Java to join their development team. The selected engineer(s) will perform all phases of software engineering in a SCADA and train control environment. It includes requirement analysis, design, development, code / unit test and system integration, test and field installation.
Other duties will include, but are not limited to:
o Perform software development.
o Work with and extend existing components to implement client requirements.
o Participate in requirement analysis and design / code reviews.
o Assist with software testing and documentation.
o Handle documentation for procedures, training and enhancements.
o Participate on project teams to adapt the AIM rail control system for new customers.
The ongoing goals for this position are as follows:
o Design new elements or changes in scope of project software.
o Maintain and enhance existing software baseline.
o Participate in code reviews and knowledge transfer.
o Interact with end customer on technical issues.
o Meet schedule deadlines and remain within budget.
o Follow and enforce engineering guidelines set in software development methodology.
o Contribute to team coding standards and monitor the code base for compliance.
o Ability to interact with customers and correctly interpret their needs and requirements.
Qualifications/ Required
Experience:
o Three to seven (3 to 7) years of experience working in software development, testing and control systems.
o Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with the following languages: C, C++, Java.
o Knowledge and hands on experience with MS SQL, Oracle database and VMware.
o Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall SDLC.
o Experience with Requirements Analysis, Design, Development, Test, Implementation and integration.
o Experience with documentation.
o Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
o Able to work independently or within a team.
Desired Skills:
o Experience with SCADA Control Systems.
o Software Systems Integration.
o Enjoy problem solving and committed to delivering high-quality software.
o Interface with external data sources.
o A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
o Experience with Enterprise Authentication.
o Experience with multi-threaded programming and practices.
o Positive attitude and eager to learn and improve.
o Cloud Based programming experience.
Education and Certification required:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineering or other technical field.
o Master's degree is preferred
