The Financial Analyst will perform in-depth financial analysis and cost accounting on a portfolio of construction projects in the region.
This individual will be responsible for managing the financial performance and reporting of each construction project.
Key Job
Responsibilities:
Work with construction operations and finance to track project performance, reviewing and analyzing work in process including contracts, change orders, billing, and collections.
Overseeing project accounting and providing real-time reporting and analysis.
Reviewing construction contracted costs, ensuring costs are aligned with estimate.
Help with generation of change orders and ensuring properly signed and processed.
Working with Project Managers/Admins on billing, highlighting jobs that may be behind and help resolve any billing issues with customers.
Requesting from accounting any movement of costs to different jobs, ensuring proper coding of both payroll and AP.
Working with Accounts Payable and Project Managers with approval of invoices to vendors and timely payments to vendors.
Monitoring accounts receivable and supporting project managers with collections.
Assist with vendor relationships including reviewing and processing purchase orders, change orders, and new supplier contracts.
Reviewing and updating customer contracts to align with client requirements and our internal reporting requirements.
Handling and managing all job Work in Process review at the region level.
Supporting operations and finance team with ad hoc analysis.
Education, work experience and other requirements:
Construction experience strongly preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent.
2-4 years of experience in a similar or equal position to that of Construction Accountant preferred.
Work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team Be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.
Be able to work more than 40 hours a week when required.
Be able to lift at least 40lbs.
Basic understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
Excellent computer skills, including MS Office.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
